Strathendrick RFC · U10 & U12 Girls

Rugby that girls want to keep coming back to.

U10 and U12 train together every week. Every session is part of a planned 6–8 week block, built around Scottish Rugby's Age Grade Law Variations โ€” not decided on the morning of training. Fun first, skills built on top.

Why we plan in blocks

Consistent skill-building, not guesswork.

๐Ÿ“…

Published in advance

Each block is written and shared before it starts, so parents and coaches always know what's coming โ€” and why.

๐Ÿงฉ

Skills layer on skills

Every week builds on the last, from ball-in-hand basics through to decision-making in a game โ€” never a one-off, reactive session.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ

Age-grade safe

Every activity follows Scottish Rugby's Age Grade Law Variations for U10 and U12 โ€” safe contact, right-sized games, everyone involved.

๐ŸŽ‰

Fun stays the point

Games, not drills for drills' sake. The 3-2-1 scoring mindset means everyone touching the ball matters, not just the fastest runner.

Practice at home

A good introduction to the core skills for players to keep sharp outside of Thursday training.

Block 1 โ€” Winning Contact

Our 7-session block runs 20 August – 1 October 2026, taking U10 and U12 through the same contact-development programme — tracking, tackling, ball carrying and decision-making — before the closing contact festival. U10 and U12 work through the drills as separate groups; the touch/game work at the end of each session splits by age group too.
